Here's hoping Kepp is the DH today and for the rest of the trip. That way they get his bat and don't rush his knee into the field.

I get this crazy feeling that Javy or Corey are the ones to go.

Nope. Kepp is not in the starting lineup Sunday.

    1. Bruce
    2. Janish
    3. Griffey (DH)
    4. Phillips
    5. Votto
    6. Dunn
    7. Encarnacion
    8. Patterson
    9. Bako

6 LH Hitters against Pettitte. Go figure. I'd bench Griffey, let Dunn DH and play Hopper in LF. Good OF play is needed in Yankee Stadium with Cueto pitching. Griffey can't hit LH anyway. And if Ross isn't good enough to catch Cueto to get his bat in there against a LH when it actually has a chance to be helpful, why have him on the team? This catching group is so bad I can't describe it.

Pinch hit, emergency use. I'll take a crippled Kepp over any guy on the bench.

Are we worried about Johnny's 5.19 ERA being jeopardized w/o the 53 year old Bako behind the plate?

I like the Phillips, Votto, Dunn....still don't like Griffey in the 3 hole

Not we, but probably Dusty. FWIW, Ross sucks back there, but he is marginally useful against LHP.

    Lineup: Keppinger in
Posted by JohnFay at 6/22/2008 11:53 AM EDT on Cincinnati.com

The Reds activated Jeff Keppinger from the disabled list and designated Andy Phillips for assignment. The club hopes Philiips passes through waivers so he can be assigned to Louisville.

"He did a good job for us," Walt Jocketty said. "He knows his role. He's played for a winner."

More moves are coming. Jerry Hairston is eligible to come off the DL Wednesday. "It's a day-to-day, week-to-week thing, Dusty Baker said.

    The lineup:

    Norris Hopper lf

    Keppinger ss

    Ken Griffey Jr. rf

    Brandon Phillips 2b

    Edwin Encarnacion 3b

    Joey Votto 1b

    Jay Bruce rf

    Corey Patterson cf

    David Ross c

    v. LH Andy Pettitte

Adam Dunn is getting a day off. "He looks lost," Baker said. "He's behind on fastball's and ahead on breaking balls.

    "It can't hurt," Dunn said.

Glad to see Fay posting 2 players in RF. Awesome.

    He's such an idiot.
