There are not many comedians who's career (successfully) spans 5 decades. He will be sorely missed.

Carlin loomed large for me. My favorite observation: that people that drive slower than you are morons, people who drive faster than you are maniacs.

The moron/maniac dynamic applies repeatedly to stuff other than traffic.

Did you ever notice that nobody ever seems to get laid on Thanksgiving? I think it's because all the coats are on the bed.

I actually remember him from the mid-60's, when he was very clean cut, and he did such hilarious bits as the Hippy Dippy Weather Man and Indian Drill Sargeant.

Then there was Toldeo Window Box. One of his best IMO.

The guys was a comedic genius and will be sorely missed.

If you have a crumb and it breaks in two pieces, do you have half a crumb or two crumbs?

I like his observation about coffee houses. The longer the person's order the bigger the jerk - he used stronger language

    Coffee - slight jerk.

Double shot Mint chocolate mocha frappachino steamed, low fat whipped cream with cinnamon - - HUGE jerk
