He called on drug dealers to help her recovery by refusing to supply her with crack cocaine.
That might be the funniest, most ridiculous thing I've ever read.

I'm so sick of hearing about her. She had a catchy song. Good for her. She has a serious problem with drugs, I get it. When she does something else memorable, it should make the news. Until then, let's focus on things even slightly more relevant? I wouldn't care if this sort of stuff merely headlined the gossip blogs, but when it leads the morning news, we have a problem.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

And the catchy song was about...being an addict. Honestly, everytime I hear it I switch it off. Can't bear to listen to a person's life spiraling out of control over the radio waves.

Amy needs to be put on an island with Lindsey, Brittany, Paris, and all those other "celebrities" with all kinds of money and opportunity that they blow and just wither away into nothingness. I'm so sick of the media's coverage of these freaking losers. What wastes.:thumbdown

Me either. I just googled her to see what I was missing. She reminds me of Gina Gershon.

Someone help me figure this out. Do the media make these lifestyle-train-wrecks into celebrities or do a lot of people really want to know about them? Who drives it?

We're talking about it, even in passing....so you tell me who drives it.

    Why is the better question.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

. . . for the same reason people gossip about the (un)popular people in high school.

Because it's easier to talk about Amy Winehouse and Brittany Spears than it is to confront real problems that don't have easy, sound-bite ready solutions?

Or they justify their own reckless behavior, figuring that they're OK as long as they're not as bad as a Winehouse or Britney. Just a pet theory of mine.

I like her more recent single better than the first one.

I liked the whole album. Played the heck out of it out on my back patio last summer. I thought it was pretty good stuff. She may be a train wreck (obviously) but she is hardly in the same company (talent wise) as someone like Paris Hilton.
