The Mustangs played the game without third baseman Neftali Soto, who was a late scratch due to a mild oblique strain.

Soto entered Monday leading the Pioneer League in batting average (.481), home runs (4) and RBIs (9). Manager Julio Garcia said it was likely Soto would miss the entire three-game series in Missoula.

Chattanooga fails to score in the top of the first inning. Shaun Cumberland drew a walk and stole his 11th base.

Rough 4th inning for Wood as he allows a 3-run homer.

So it seems to me Mr Wood is progressing rather normally. A decent lefty who needs to work out a few control issues, but at his age and his level I'm still rather encouraged. If he can get his walks under control, 2010 isn't unreasonable at all.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

    Chattanooga lost 5-2.

Robert Manual is developing into a fine bullpen prospect. After today's outing his 2008 season stats look like this:

    47.1 IP, 33 H, 1 HR, 11 BB, 66 K's, 1.15 ERA

OBM, since Fogg will be making a rehab start on Thursday for AAA Louisville, will Bailey be moved up a day or pushed back?

I'm not sure. I wasn't aware of Fogg pitching in Louisville until you mentioned it.

The Courier-Journal mentioned it today in the paper (Louisville paper).

Josh Fogg-on major league rehab assignment-will pitch for the Bats on Thursday. He was placed on the Reds' DL June 1st with lumbar back spasms.

Hmm, maybe he won't start, but only pitch? But that wouldn't make much sense since he's started in his other rehab assignments.

I'll be at Maloney's start tonight and Pettyjohn/Bailey's tomorrow at 12:05pm.

Trent is at Dayton tonight and will be blogging. He's also got a couple videos of Devin Mesoraco taking batting practice.

In Dayton to see the Dragons.

The guy Donnie Scott was most excited about is third-round pick Zach Stewart. He's supposed to throw tonight. He throws 96 and has a killer slider. He said he's working on a changeup, too.

Starting is Kyle Lotzkar, last year's supplemental first-round pick. The right-hander has a good fastball and a good curveball. I'm interested to see him.

I also talked to Devin Mesoraco, who isn't starting tonight.

Did get a little video from BP.

I'm wearing my Georgia hat, Dragons hitting coach Darren Bragg took it from me and said something to me about wearing this around him. Bragg is a DRT -- a dirty, rotten Techie.

I'm gonna do some liveblogging, but also walk around the stadium a little take some pictures and video.

    Here's your lineups
