I agree. MLB umps are very overrated. Some say "well 90% of the time the ump's call is right." Well the truth is in baseball 90% of the calls aren't close.

That's what I'm wondering. He was in great position so he saw the play from a good angle. How you watch a guy get tagged and call him safe is beyond me.

I doubt it's true, but maybe it's a make-up call from earlier when they called Mientkiewicz out at home?

How do you not score from 2nd on a double? That's impressive.

Wow. This is just unfair as hell to Edinson. No way in the world they should've gotten 2 runs here. None.

Now he's getting yanked. Pole should've been out there after that initial walk. He was obviously emotionally ticked off. That's no way to pitch.

I have to eat some crow.

I've argued against instant replay in the past.

    I stand corrected.

Dusty had a bad angle on that. When he sees the awful call, he'll wish he had uttered some expletives, too.

Pig Pirates are getting a free pass tonight by the umpires. And now Volquez, after 5 brilliant innings is history. Lincoln? Good grief.

Lincoln coming in. This inning is just sickening. There should not be one run scored but so far 2 and still a runner in scoring position.

EE must have called the ump something really bad to get booted that quick.

This bad inning isn't on Volquez. Not at all. That inning should have never happened. Bay was clearly struckout, even he thought so.

If the ump understood him then god bless that ump's ears.

Bautista grounds into a 1-6-5 FC. They keep that rundown going so long that Bautista gets to 2nd. 2 outs.
