    Volquez and Ross

not a good match and when Pole comes out to talk to Volquez, Pole leaves and Volquez is shaking his head no. It looked like Volquez had no confidence in either.

    Re: Volquez and Ross

Volquez's recent struggles isn't because of Pole or Ross. He's right around the 100 inning mark and seems to be going through a tired arm stage. His velocity is down which makes his changeup ineffective. Toss in some tight strikezones along with a loss of velocity and it's a perfect match for bad results. I'd like to see him get a week or so of rest and see what it does for his velocity.

I agree he's on fumes right now, but his facial expressions toward those two had me wondering a bit, he shook his head 3 or 4 times and walked off the mound after Pole left, then his next pitch was a curve that got shot thru the infield, by then he was spitting fire he was so mad.

i hope its just a tired arm stage like OBM states. he really hasn't looked good in his last 3 starts. the biggest thing missing has been the strikeout.
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008

I think Volquez was shaking his head in frustration over his own stuggles rather than because he thinks Pole and Ross have no idea what they're talking about.
