Should Volquez start the All-Star game?

The ESPN "experts" feel he should. I'm wary of the "Jack Armstrong 2nd half collapse"....

Well then it's a good thing he's not starting, Webb is.

I wouldn't care if he didn't even pitch.

I would have liked to see him start the game but i'd much rather he only pitch an inning that won't throw him off schedule.

Volquez seemed to have the starting spot locked up before his last three starts(only one of which was actually that bad overall). His inevitable slowdown should have left the spot up for grabs between Lincecum and himself, though, not Brandon Webb. Webb is 14th in the NL in ERA and 11th in the NL in strikeouts, trailing his own teammate Dan Haren in both of those categories.

I'm not sure if the decision was more due to his track record or him leading the league in wins, but either way it's the wrong decision. Tim and Edinson are both having superior years and are both doing it despite being on inferior ball clubs.

Where did you hear Webb was starting? In my opinion it is between edinson and lincecum.

    That's what I believe too.
    Code:
SPLITS G GS CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB SO W L P/GS WHIP BAA ERA
    Volquez 19 18 0 0 110.2 84 36 29 4 54 116 11 3 96.7 1.25 .211 2.36
    Webb 18 18 2 1 118.0 106 54 45 8 31 100 12 4 97.8 1.16 .238 3.43
    Lincecum 18 17 0 0 115.2 100 36 32 5 44 122 10 1 105.7 1.24 .236 2.49
Volquez and Lincecum seem about even to me, and I wouldn't mind to see either start. Of course, being a Reds fan, I have to hope for Volquez.

Clint Hurdle gets to pick, so it's definitely Webb or Lincecum.

    Maybe even Aaron Cook

So was I not supposed to assume stfm knew what he was talking about? Was he being sarcastic? Was my rant for nothing?
