    Former non-National Reds club

We could start a pretty good club with former Reds:

    SP: Lohse - 3.61 ERA 10-2
    SP: Dempster - 3.24 ERA 9-3
    SP: Dumatrait - 4.66 ERA 3-4
    RP: Dennys Reyes - 2.25 ERA 2-0
    CL: Ryan Franklin - 3.20 11 SV

    CF: Hamilton - .309 -19 HR -84 RBI
    1B: Aurilia - .284 - 8 HR - 35 RBI
    C: LaRue - .231 - 3 HR - 11 RBI
    LF: Cody Ross: .266 - 15 HR - 47 RBI
    PH: Casey - .360 - 0 HR - 8 RBI
    RF: Guillen - .272 - 13 HR - 64 RBI

What is funny is that Ol' Leather Pants got the worst of the bunch:
    2B - Lopez -.246 - 2 HR - 22 RBI
    OF - Kearns - .194 - 3 HR -18 RBI
    3B - Boone - .258 - 5 HR - 15 RBI
    1B - Young - .273 - 4 HR - 10 RBI
    OF - Pena - .214 - 2 HR - 10 RBI

Outside of Lohse, I wouldn't want any of them back. I bet Lohse would not of put those kind of numbers for the Reds this year, probably be more like 3 and 10.

Fans of every team say the same thing. Pretty much every major league club could field a good team comprised of its former players. I think the Royals and Pirates would play in the World Series every year under that scenario.

True. I would want Hamilton back too but, I bet given the recent clubhouse tension issue that came out, he wouldn't be having quite as good a season if he were in Cincinnati. I bet Volquez wouldn't be 11 and 3 for Texas either. Sometimes the change of scenery does players quite a bit of good.

I'll take BJ Ryan over Reyes.

That team is all too old. Sure you have a few good young players, but most are at the tail-end of their careers.

You wouldn't take Dempster back? I still find it funny we give up on the guy who was pitching while he needed TJ surgery, and then let another team take a flier on him.

Grant Balfour is another guy you can add to the list. He has been lights out for the Rays.

Dempster gets alot of support from the cubs offense and i think that takes some of the pressure off of him

Yeah he does, but I'd still gladly plug him in instead of Fogg.

I knew if Lohse ever got his control down he would be a very good pitcher. Looks like all he needed was a little better coaching and one more year.

    Sucks for us. Once again.

With one exception, he hasn't given up more than 4 ER in a start all year. He's been really good, not just a product of pitching for a good offense.

The Cubs made a very smart move with him. They signed him knowing he would be out for the year and let him rehab.
