Bailey done for the night with just 82 pitches thrown. Great game by Bailey even if the statline says 4 earned runs, that was entirely his defenses fault.

Homer was pinch hit for after only 82 pitches.
Of course the move pays off as Szymanski (Homer's PH) Ks on 4 pitches. I really would have like to seen how homer would have bounced back.
Dragons up 5-1
Menchaca:1-3, HR
Soto: 2-3
Parker:2-3, double, triple
Reed:2-2
Horst: 5 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, 1 ER, 7 K
Logan Parker with a triple? Bet that was fun to watch!
Interesting thing about Ryan Hanigan is he was undrafted out of college. Undrafted. Reds signed him as a free agent. It is pretty hard to slip through the cracks when there are 50 rounds ;-)
Hanigan looks like our backup catcher of the future. I mean that as a compliment. We'll see if Jocketty can find us a real starting catcher this offseason.
LeCure gives up a walk and homerun in the first. Then retires the side.
Tied with Mississippi 2-2 after 1 inning
Horst is building some impressive stats that suggest he has a power arm. Can someone who has seen him comment on his stuff?
Bailey struck out eight while walking nobody and giving up zero home runs in six innings. It sounds like he's doing some things that I want him to do down there, and that's a good thing.
I'm much more concerned what the SO, BB, and HR columns look like and how Bailey's getting those numbers than what the ER column looks like.
The Lost Decade Average Season: 74-88
2014-22 Average Season: 71-91
Listening to the game here in Louisville, Bailey seemed to be getting ahead of the count very often with strikes. Didn't seem like he wasted too many pitches, and thus led to no walks.
Agreed. By listening it seems like he pitched a great game, and the miscommunication between Mackowiak and Dickerson, and the throw down to 2B that hit the helmet (advancing the runner to third) sours the stat line under his start. Definitely glad that he went after the hitters wasting no time.
Oh, and his K to end the inning was a curveball in the dirt.
Chattanooga takes a 3-2 lead.
Sarasota is heading into the bottom of the 9th on the road in a 1-1 game.
