Did you hear the Cubs Broadcasters crack on Dunn?

When they were introducing the lineups, and they were showing Dunn in Left Field, the Cubs announcer says, "...and Dunn is in Left Field where he might as well take a bat with him because that glove of his doesn't do him any good".

Bob Brenly or Len Kasper said that? They usually have a lot more class than that...

I didn't hear the comment, so perhaps it could use some more context, but that just seems unnecessary. Especially when you consider that Soriano has booted his fair share of balls out LF this year for the Cubbies.

It's at the very beginning in the bottom of the 1st before the Cubs bat. If you have a replay off of MLB w/ Cubs broadcasters, you can hear it.

I was shocked he said that. I think it was Brenly, but I'm not 100% sure.

Wow, I guess the Cubs announcers are just as classless as most of the Cubs fans. :thumbdown

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

Could someone tell me what was so incorrect about what the Cub announcers said about Dunn?? Or what was so incorrect about JP Riccardi's comments?

You mean you need to know something other than that they are wrong?

I thought it was funny. It was a low blow, but it was a funny low blow.

I'm not too sure what the big deal is. Maybe it wasn't the classiest thing to say, but these are baseball announcers, not ambassadors. Get over it.

How were they wrong, Blue?? Dunn is a butcher in LF and if the possiblility didnt exist of Dunn hitting a 450 ft blast, he would be useless...

Brenly actually makes a good joke ...

"That is the first time I've seen people on the rooftop bleachers stand up and get ready to catch a HR ball."

It was a great win today.

Nothing like pounding out 7 dingers to humble them a little bit.
