I wonder what Votto would do with some protection in the order.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Why wonder? We know he would hit better. But god forbid the worst hitter in our lineup (that isn't a catcher/pitcher) hit anything but third.

Dusty and JB rapped about it last night and were spot on. This team simply won't be making serious moves with that guy in the 3 hole.

    Dunner!
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Here's a scouting report on McClung:

What's more, while I wouldn't attach much meaning to it, McClung hasn't pitched very well at home this season either.

Basically McClung will tend to fire heat while mixing in a combination of his nice curve and slider to emasculate right-handed hitters. Against lefties he'll use his four seamer less, work away with a slower splitter and mix in his curve (breaks into a lefty).

Phillips will struggle against him but Baker should load his lineup with lefties.
