Anyone else have a problem with...

...this sequence of events in the top of the 8th with no outs:

    Keppinger singles
    Dunn hits into DP
    Phillips singles
    EE walks

Maybe a bunt to put the go-ahead run in scoring position with two straight RH up against LHP? Is Dunn not allowed to bunt?

Re: Anyone else have a problem with...

    Yes and no.

YES: I have a problem with any player hitting into a double play.

NO: Despite his low BA, Dunn is not an out-maker versus lefties. If you sac an out for a base, not only are you playing for the tie and not the win, but you are less likely to get either because a runner has a better chance of scoring after a "Runner of 1B, 0 out" situation than a "Runner on 2B, 1 out" situation.

In hindsight, they would have been better off having Dunn bunt IF he was sucessful in getting it down. That wouldn't have made it the right move, as at the time the call would have been made scoring the run would have been less likely that way.
