What was your highlight/favorite Reds moment of the first half of the baseball season?
I'd say my favorite had to be Johnny Cueto's major league debut against the D-Backs in the third game of the season. Making his major league debut, Cueto carried a perfect game into the sixth inning before losing it on a solo homerun by Justin Upton, the only baserunner to reach against Cueto. His final line was: 7 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 10 K. That was one of the more dominant pitching performances I've seen in a long time and the fact it was on his major league debut made it that much more impressive.
Another favorite was Jay Bruce's major league debut when he went 3-for-3 with a double and two walks against the Pirates. The crowd was electric that night and it's something I'll never forget.
Other favorites include the May 7th 9-0 victory over the Cubs when the Reds pounced seven homeruns - four in the second inning - and Votto hit three homeruns and Volquez threw seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts against a tough Cubs offense.
Jay Bruce's walk off homerun in the 10th inning on May 31st against the Braves also ranks up there.
One more favorite was Dunn launching a walk off 3-run homerun against the Indians on May 17th while I was in attendance. The victory was the Reds fifth straight win.
