What was your favorite Reds moment of the first half?

What was your highlight/favorite Reds moment of the first half of the baseball season?

I'd say my favorite had to be Johnny Cueto's major league debut against the D-Backs in the third game of the season. Making his major league debut, Cueto carried a perfect game into the sixth inning before losing it on a solo homerun by Justin Upton, the only baserunner to reach against Cueto. His final line was: 7 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 10 K. That was one of the more dominant pitching performances I've seen in a long time and the fact it was on his major league debut made it that much more impressive.

Another favorite was Jay Bruce's major league debut when he went 3-for-3 with a double and two walks against the Pirates. The crowd was electric that night and it's something I'll never forget.

Other favorites include the May 7th 9-0 victory over the Cubs when the Reds pounced seven homeruns - four in the second inning - and Votto hit three homeruns and Volquez threw seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts against a tough Cubs offense.

Jay Bruce's walk off homerun in the 10th inning on May 31st against the Braves also ranks up there.

One more favorite was Dunn launching a walk off 3-run homerun against the Indians on May 17th while I was in attendance. The victory was the Reds fifth straight win.

    I'll take Votto's 3 HR game.

    1) Bruce's major league debut ... cause I was there.
    2) Bruce's walk off vs. Atlanta ... cause I was there.
    3) Dunn's walk off vs. Cleveland ... cause I was there.

    4) Cueto's major league debut ... unfortunately I was stuck at work (blah)

When Encarnacion and Dunn hit homers after Dusty gave them the BUNT sign...

Without a doubt my #1 was the "EE in NOT clutch" homer. What's great about it is that it seemed to be a turning point for Brantley. Marty was really starting to wear off him in terms of being negative. He happily ate crow after that and has been much better to listen to since then.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    #600 doesn't even get a vote? I'm surprised.

I'll go with that one as well. Jay's walkoff was special and Adam's homers are always great for me, but that night was perfect. Edinson's dominating performances are special to watch too.

Griffey's PH walk off HR vs. Pittsburgh in late June, because we were there.

#600 and Bruce's walk-off. Cueto's debut was also high up there.
    Least favorite? San Diego.

    Favorite moments:
    1. Bruce's hot streak when he was first called up.
    2. Patterson's hot streak at the start of the season. Sure, I knew it wouldn't last, but it was nice to see him and the entire team play well at the beginning.
    3. Cordero coming in and nailing down saves. It's been so long since we've had a closer that I assume the game is over when he comes in.

    Favorite off the field event:

Marty's vacation. Was nice to not hear him on the radio for 4 or 5 days.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Re: What was your favorite Reds moment of the first half?

Dunn's walkoff against Cleveland was one of my favorites because I was there.
Bruce's debut and really that whole first week was great especially the walk off vs the Braves.
Junior's 600th though I did not get to see that game it was a great moment.
A couple of games against the Cubs. - Votto's 3 home run game and the 7 home runs the team hit including Dunn's monster shot last week. (Unfortunately at work for both of those)
Edwin's can't hit in the clutch walkoff.
Cueto's debut start (Also stuck at work. I hate working during Reds games)

Javy Valentin playing 3B @ Yankee Stadium on 6/22/08 is my favorite Reds moment of the 1st half.

    I saw history that afternoon.
