    2008 All-Star game thread

Tim Lincecum was taken to the hospital with dehydration and flu-like symptoms.

The 24-year-old will miss his first All-Star game: he'll remain at the hospital throughout the game and be monitored and hydrated. He's not scheduled to pitch until Sunday at the earliest, so this may not prevent him from making his next start.

I think this is the year the NL finally wins and snaps the 10-game losing streak (not including the tie in 2002).
    I miss Adam Dunn.

You've got to love "flu-like symptoms". Drinkie drinkie Timmy.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I consider myself the straightest guy in the world, but does anyone else have a sweeter voice than James Earl Jones? (Nice little intro by the guy)

"sweet" is not the word I would use to describe Jones' voice - more "avuncular".

Haha. I never knew that appreciating voice talent needed an orientation-clarifying disclaimer.

Anybody watching the parade on Fox? It's pretty awesome with all the Hall of Famers involved.

These people singing New York, New York is making my head hurt.

The dancing NYPD was pretty good.

    Volquez looks about 10.

The HOF on the field with the intros of the starting lineups is pretty cool. Sort of disappointing to see no Bench, no Morgan representing the Reds.
