I wanna see him stay. With Harang, Volquez, Cueto, and Bronson i like our chances against any team in the National League. Trading Bronson makes no sense for this team right now.

Take away those 10 runs given up in 1 inning and his e.r.a. drops to 4.88.

On April 23rd, he went 3.2 innings vs. Houston and gave up 8 earned runs.
In fact, on May 4th he pitched 1 inning at Atlanta and gave up 7 earned runs.
Again, on June 24th he pitched 1 inning at Toronto and gave up 10 earned runs.

Deduct those 5.2 innings and 25 earned runs from Arroyo's season stats and his e.r.a. is............

    2 years/$25M (2009-10), plus 2011 club option
    $2.5M signing bonus (paid 2008)
    09:$9.5M, 10:$11M, 11:$11M club option ($2M buyout)
2011 option may increase to $13M based on IP

    Enough said.

His dependability drives his price up quite a bit, and he'll be worth it. He can either be a very solid number 2 type pitcher down to a number 4, and consistancy is key in any rotation

Or you can just ''nickel and dime''and shuffle starters in and out for the next two years.Reds are building a solid foundation on the hill now,and some sense of normalcy in this rotation is a breath of fresh air.

I am sure everyone misses the days of Jimmy Haynes and Joey Hamilton holding down the rotation.

    Gimme Bronson as a 3 or a 4 instead for 2yrs 25mil and I won't complain.

I like Bronson eating up innings, keeping the pen fresh for the young guys. If the pen can stay rested and come in for volquez and cueto after 5 and 6 innings, these guys could stay in cincy for a decade. We're not going to find a better pitcher out there for less money either, I keep him!

Quality pitchers are too hard to come by. Bronson has been stellar as of late. I would hate to trade him and see him perform well for other teams (see Ryan Dempster and Kyle Lohse.)

Re: Arroyo wants to stay in Cincy

What I found interesting is, this is actually like the first time Bronson has acted like he wants to be here in Cincinnati. Why? Because he, and I'm sure other players, can see the resurgence of this youth movement, and knows they are on the verge of winning possibly next season.

The attitude about this team, from within the players themselves, certainly seems to be changing.
