    July 26 Minor League updates

Looks like the Gurus are out today, so I'll kick things off.

Starting with the GCL Reds who lost 6-3.

    Not many good days.

Donald Lutz 2 for 4 with an SB
    Rimes 1 for 3 with a 2B and a BB

On the mound the Italians did OK:

    Pizziconi 1.1 IP, 2BB, 1K
Panerati 1.0 IP with nothing accross.

    Efrain Rodriguez had a short night: .2 IP, 3H, 1BB, 2ER.
    Rafael Ceballos .2IP, 3H, 2ER, 1K, 1HR.

I agree Dickerson should get to come up with the team, but it doesn't make sense when there wouldn't be at bats daily for him. It is great to see him hitting and give another option for one of next seasons question marks.

The Reds are never going to hand Dickerson a regular job with regular major league at bats. He should come up now and play whenever he can. If he shows them something, they'll get him at bats.

I thought the world had ended when I came here a little bit ago and there was no minor league thread for the night. Thanks for the updates.

Dickerson will be up in September and if he plays well (i.e. Votto last year) he could all but lock up a roster spot for next year. I think the Reds see him as a decent backup OF and one that is pretty close to being ready. He will never be a star, but could become a solid MLB player. I like that he does a lot of things well and seems to be getting better each year.

Another note from the Dayton game:

    No players were arrested.

I feel like he's been kind of lost in the shuffle this year, but is quietly having himself a very nice season.

Re: July 26 Minor League updates

Chattanooga won 6-1. They were in a delay last night and I never got around to this game. This is the most interesting team in the system IMO.

Dorn 3 for 4 with a HR. Dorn now has a line of .271/.366/.564/.931 in 255 or so PA at AA. Time for a move to AAA?

Henry 2 for 4 with 2 2B. Henry's line is now .326/.399/.527/.926 in 308 or so PA. AAA as well?

Valaika 1 for 4. His AA line: .313/.367/.465/.832 in 296 or so PA. I'd have him finsih the year in AA.

Stubbs 1 for 4 with an SB. His AA line: .368/.467/.421/.888 in 44 PA. A good start but that slug needs to go up some more.

Gutierrez 0 for 2 with a walk. .288/.409/.392/.801 in 372 or so PAs has him with 56 BB and only 53 Ks. This guy looks like Scott Hatteberg version 2.0, but he may not have enough pop for it to translate at the big league level. He should be in AAA IMO. He'll be 25 on August 18.

    Turner 1 for 4 with a 2b. He's now at .270/.352/.421/.774 in 203 or so PA.

    Robert Manuel 1IP, 1H, 2K. At AA: 59 IP, 38H, 14BB, 74K. 1.37 ERA.
