Whenever we need to liven the mood up, my friends and I will always throw on Guster's "Meow Mix" of "Keep it Together." Nothing gets you ready for a night on the town like hearing "Homecoming King" in nothing but cat noises.

In fact -- when we were tailgating for DMB in Indy, we tried to counter all the people playing Dave in the parking lot (concert rule violation #3) by playing a little Meow Mix.

Seriously. That post that Dom made was horrible. Radiohead is one the most consistently great bands around today, and In Rainbows was a great album. I just laughed at how ridiculous the notion of finding it at a garage sale was.
Had I known my post would have had this effect on you, I would have made it 10 times longer.

Now- is "great" a factual or subjective word?

Not much country talk going on in here.

Here is some country for you. The good kind.

I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

    Re: Favorite Bands/Songs

Ah Radiohead, the bane of my existence, as my live-in GF LOVES them (and we go back and forth about it a bit) - but it's not due to a pretentious "I'm so cool and hip" front from her...rather I think people who are clinically depressed most of their lives are RH's biggest market demographic. If I'm depressed, and that happens, I would rather not revel in it I guess.

That said, I actually like their newer single "House Of Cards" - that's fine soft rock. But quite a bit of their music just doesn't jive with me at all (i.e., boring) - and my guitar teacher loves them too - but seems to be more interested in seeing them live than listening to them much. That said I find Coldplay's last two CD's soooo much more annoying and bad than anything RH has put out. Yeech.

Not much new, good music out right now, so been listenin' to:

    The Black Angels
U2's "Boy" (wow what an underrated album)
Brendan Canning from BSS' solo CD
And uh, Metallica Master Of Puppets and the old Garage Days EP for nostalgic flair (I cannot stand anything by Metallica after "And Justice For All" and even that CD I am not overly fond of anymore). But "Puppets" is a a timeless classic.

A shocking choice from Baumer. I really like The National - and the Madison Theater show in Covington just made me like them that much more. Probably my favorite road trip music to listen to at this point.

Do dead composers count? All time favorites, in no particular order, are:

    Rich Mullins
    Michael Card
    Bebo Norman
G.F. Handel (most composers from that period)
    Matt Molloy
    Kevin Burke
    The Bothy Band
    Dervish
    Lunasa
    Alison Krauss
Jazz (not really a favorite artist)
    Ray Charles
    Dan Fogelberg
    Chet Atkins
