    Favorite Bands/Songs

    Radiohead
    -Fake Plastic Trees
    -High & Dry
    -Jigsaw Falling Into Place
    -Reckoner

    Muse
-Plug In Baby (my favorite all time song by my favorite band)
    -Map of the Problamatique
    -City of Delusion
    -Muscle Museum

My two favorite bands, i'll keep the list at that for now. I'm a new listener to Radiohead (a few months) and love them. My cousin thinks i'm crazy for liking Muse more than Radiohead, but they are a more fun band to listen to IMO.

You may think you're cool by liking them, but you don't really like it. You feel hip placing it on the counter, it sounds cool to talk about with people you just met, but it's just noise. Crappy noise. Just admit it and throw on a Backstreet Boys CD. Sure, it's cheesy, but at least it has a chorus, keyboards, guitars, drums and it's not a wasteland filled with things that sound like a violin being played with a tire iron.

Radiohead takes something wonderful like music, and turns it into an unbearable experience.

People thought it was a big deal that they released an album online.

Well if you wait a bit, you'll be able to buy it at garage sales nationwide.

I just read that and then saw your post. Lol

I like Muse's music, but I'm gonna have to agree with Dom on Radiohead...

If Radiohead are overrated than what are Muse and other Radiohead-knockoffs considered? Whether you like Radiohead or not, there are millions of fans (many of them musicians themselves) who disagree. To me overrated is gaining success for a small amount of product/output. Bands who blow up on one single and have only 1-2 albums. A band that has endured 15+ years, 6+ albums, 3+ radical style changes and still has a huge following is far from overrated IMO.

And Fake Plastic Trees is my favorite Radiohead song ever.

Seriously. That post that Dom made was horrible. Radiohead is one the most consistently great bands around today, and In Rainbows was a great album. I just laughed at how ridiculous the notion of finding it at a garage sale was.

On topic...this is what is getting heavy play on the iPod for me lately.

    Radiohead:
    There There.
    Jigsaw Falling Into Place
    Nude
    Reckoner
    Idioteque

    Queens of the Stone Age:
    Tangled Up in Plaid
    No One Knows
    Mosquito Song

    Interpol:
    Hands Away
    Untitled
    Obstacle 2
    NARC

I've also listened to About Today by The National a bunch of times recently, as well as their album Boxer.

I have all of Jonathan Richman's releases in Ohio. When I fly back (probably next year), I'll look that one up for you.

"Way Down Yonder in the Minor Key" is by far my favorite song from the Mermaid Avenue releases.

I love both of the Billy Bragg with Wilco albums and I'd probably agree that WDYIAMK was their best effort.

The thing about Muse is that they definitely have a much more accessible sound because it's alot closer to what you hear on the radio usually now. The thing about that is that it seems like the quality of their music suffers for it sometimes. For example, I think my favorite Muse song would probably be Hysteria, which is a good song. However, it's pretty straightforward; it doesn't leave me with alot to think about after listening, nor is it all too incredibly unique. Good song, but the experience is a little shallow. That seems to be the case with alot of Muse's songs.

I am too lazy to list my individual fave songs by each artist. I'll just list my fave musicians.

    Ryan Adams
    Ben Harper
    Wilco
    Beck
    Radiohead
Counting Crows (Although Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings stunk)
    G. Love & Special Sauce (his newest release also blew)

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
