Good Lord. Reds fans have no patience with young players. I'm sure Jay Bruce and Edinson Volquez will be next...

Votto has been plummeting. Bruce, it's too early. And Volquez is one of the best starters in baseball.

You know, I thought about skipping this one. Looks like I was correct on this one. Three worst at-bats I've seen in awhile.

Fresh off the DL with no rehab starts and he strikes out the side after having runners at 1st and 3rd with no outs.

471 career PAs isn't too early? An .811 OPS in his first 471 PAs. I'm willing to give him some time.

Hitters who avoid outs are the funnest.

There never seems to be a game plan, does there?

Sorry but if you are going to rip Votto, gotta rip EV who has been "plummetting".

I like them all for the record.

    Exactly.

Cueto throws a 1-2-3 second inning.

if there is anything that really bothers about Bruce and Votto is that they certainly have shown themselves to be hackers

Votto was a patient hitter in the minors...remember he was told in the spring to be more aggressive...

If he were 21, yeah, too early; same if he were a pitcher like Cueto who had his struggles and will have in the future. But Votto isn't a kid.

Or are they "protecting the plate"?

No mention of Cueto not backing up Bako on that throw to the plate? Cost a base, Cueto knew it. Seems to be the type of thing that happens often...players not really focused or motivated, or doing things all the talk show people like to rail on and on about.

Not to be the boy that cried "Dusty", but could this be a Dusty influence?
