Been helping my best friend with his thesis the past week as well as moving. Been real busy, I spend about 30 minutes online a day. I did turn on the Reds game in time today to see Prince go nuts on Manny Parra for no real reason.

Whoa. Jeff Jeffords is now pitching the 7th inning for Chattanooga. When did he get promoted? He went straight from Dayton to Chattanooga.

Jeffords faced three hitters and allowed a double, RBI single, and then a strikeout that got past the catcher for a wild pitch. Geronimo is now in to pitch with the game tied 1-1.

The DSL Reds lost 2-0 in a rain shortened six inning game.

Juan Duran went 0-for-1 with two walks.

    Alex Candelario was 1-for-2.

Jeffords was charged with three runs without getting an out.

    Geronimo: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

    Chattanooga trails 3-1 after seven.

I think we will see Dickerson, Rosales, and Hannigan at some point down the stretch in Reds unis...I think that those 3 can help this team in some way next year, with cheap young players, making up the bench backup roles, and maybe in Dickerson's case as a starter in CF...

If Dickerson can put just a .330-.350 OBP(he has a career .361 OBP and .383 so far this year), regardless of everything else, I wouldn't mind handing him the starting CF for next year. Gives us one less thing to worry about in the offseason, which is why he needs to be up now getting plenty of AB's to see if he can be that semi acceptable leadoff guy.

I agree, with him in between Dunn (hopefully) and Bruce...That is a pretty good defensive outfield as Bruce reads the ball well and Dickerson can cover lots of ground...

Exactly, except on Dunn, not that I don;t like him and what not, it just doesn't make much financial sense to lock him up for 4-5 at 16-18 when we have so much LF capable depth in the minors with Fraizier, Cumberland, Soto, etc. and in Votto. I've said it before, move Votto to LF in the offseason and sign a journey man type like Doug Manchiewicz (sp?) to hold down 1b till one of Frazier/Alonso(if signed of course) is ready.

So you go into '09, very young, but a completly diferent culture than just the year before:

    CF Dickerson
SS Furcal-Dunn freed up money goes to a position we are weak of in the minors (maybe switch up Chris and Furcal)
    RF Bruce
    LF Votto
    2b BP
    1b Menchiewicz
    3b EE
    C Ross/Hannigan/maybe a trade
