    Perfect game alert....

Jeff Karstens is through 7 innings against the Diamondbacks with a perfect game.

He only has 85 or so pitches as well.

    6 more outs to go...

I am sure I just jinxed it, but oh well.
    Matta = Really good

Karstens also picked up his first major league hit and now has 2 hits off Randy Johnson today.

Dang. A two out double in the 8th by Chris Young breaks up the perfect game and no-hitter.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

What a jerk. Really though, I like watching that guy play a lot.

As do I. Just think, if not for Carl Lindner, Young would be a Red right now.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

As a selfish Griffey fan, I will say it doesn't bother me much.

    He can't really hit...

His OBP isn't where it needs to be yet but he's got great power. Last season as a rookie he belted 32 homeruns and stole 27 bases while posting a .237/.295/.467 statline. This year he's at .234/.300/.422 with 15 homeruns. He's got tremendous power for a CFer but clearly his OBP skills are lacking right now, though he showed solid walk rates in the minors which leaves hope he can improve upon his walk totals. I'd love to have his power on this team.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

He didn't get the perfect game or not hitter, but he did throw a complete game shutout.

As the pitiful Pirates push the Reds back into last place again.

We're contending next year, though. Count on it!

Patterson has some power. If he hadn't been rushed and hailed as the Savior in Chicago, he might have developed into a very nice #6 hitter.

He's got a little pop but nothing close to what Chris Young has. Young is currently on pace for his second straight 20+ homerun season to begin his career. Patterson has one 20+ homerun season in his career.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
