Given the state of the Reds' starting pitching lately, I'd expect Livingston to get the ball for them pretty darn soon.

Why does Stewart always pitch multiple innings every time he goes out there? It seemed to me he was at his best when he was coming in for 1 inning at a time in Dayton. Are they trying to attempt stretching him out to be a starter?

They probably want to fast track him and getting him a lot of innings this year will help with that.

I have no idea why they are doing that. Donnie Scott said the Reds were wanting to limit his innings since he was a college guy and then turn around and pitch him two innings nearly every appearance. I don't get it. I hope they don't stretch him out to be a starter. He struggled as a starter in college...plus he's got a chance to be a dominant shutdown bullpen arm.

    That would make sense.

Maybe they want him to be more than a 1 inning reliever....which would eliminate having to have more than 11 pitchers on a staff beacuse all they can do is pitch 1 inning?

Tired of these relievers who are only useful for one inning at a time and can barely pitch 3 days in a row....even while only pitching 1 inning at a time.

I am not saying that returning to the 70's and 80-'s type reliever that has 60-80 games pitched with 100-120 innings...is better...but having guys who barely pitch more innings than games does not seem to be a good thing either. Less good bench players and more actual good relievers on your team....make for a better team. Guys like Gary M would not be on the roster.

I know McKeon ran Sullivan/Graves/Williamson hard...but that was more due to the bad starting of Steve Avery/Jason Bere and even Tomko...who barely lasted 5 innings each start.
