3 Reds minor leaguers suspended for drugs

NEW YORK (AP)—Three Cincinnati Reds minor leaguers were suspended 50 games each Monday after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

All three players were part of the Reds’ Dominican summer league teams. Pitchers Jonathan Correa and Elvin Silvestre were penalized for using Boldenone and outfielder Cesar Colmenares tested positive for Nandrolone.

A total of 20 minor leaguers have 50-game bans since July 25. All but one tested positive in the Dominican and Venezuelan summer leagues. Prior to this year, baseball didn’t announce suspensions in those two leagues because of legal issues.

Correa is the only one I've heard of.

Correa is 17 years old, and the other two are 18 years old. It's sad that they've started this sort of thing so young.

I feel like more often than not, especially in the Dominican Leagues, the younger players simply gain too much trust in people that don't always look out for what is best for them and find themselves in trouble like this. I know teams are starting to make more of a presence in the Dominican Leagues as far as facilities and monitoring, but maybe more steps need to be taken in order to keep this from happening in the future

Why, did they not print the rules in Spanish? apparently greed is the same whether you spell in it in English or Spanish.
