New look team, same terrible baserunning....at least it's an old face making the mistakes and not a new one.

Sorry, but if you can cut Ross, you can cut Patterson. Ridiculous.

Patterson gets picked off second base to end the inning. Wow.

Cool. Patterson showcasing his incompetence on the base paths as well.

The only positive of that is it gets Dickerson a clean start in the third...he looked awfully antsy with runners on.

I just looked at the Red Sox vs. Rangers game and Ortiz is 2 for 2 with 2 homers and 6 RBIs and its only the 1st inning.

I know we are trying to be real down on Patt (I agree, horrible horrible player), but why did Bako swing at that 1-1 pitch if he saw Patt stealing and with an unreal break. That is not professional hitting.

Patterson is out of practice on this "baserunning" thing. It usually follows the "getting on base" thing.

Kind of like Level 2 in a video game, you have to master Level 1 first.

    Re: Reds vs Pirates 8/12/08

I have a really big problem with making the 3rd out at 3rd there to end the inning. I'm all for being agrgressive every now and then, and generally speaking, Patterson isn't a bad baserunner, but that's just inexcusable. The amount that can be gained on that play is not worth the risk. Unless Karstens is flat out ignoring you, the runner has to stay at 2nd. Took the bat right out of Dickserson's hands for the chance at a near inconsiquential gain.

I just noticed that and started a thread on ORG....wow.

Glad I've got in him my fantasy lineup!
