Nah, Pujols didn't do anything. Kyle Lohse is nothing but a big pansy. IIRC he was disliked in Minnesota for being a crybaby.

Hairston draws a two out 12 pitch walk.

Bruce got ahead 3-0, took a couple called strikes and then grounded out. Lohse is at 93 pitches.

    After 5 innings:

    Reds 2, Cards 0

    Volquez 55 pitches, 34 strikes
    Lohse 93 pitches, 63 strikes.

Nice 12 pitch AB there by Hairston to draw the walk.

A low batting average coupled with a high IsoD is evidence that a guy has good plate discipline but problems making contact. You cannot sustain the walk rates Dickerson has sustained with poor plate discipline -- period. Like Dunn, he strikes out because he works deep counts and swings and misses a fair bit.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Singles by Schumaker and Ludwick. First and second with only one out for Pujols. I have a bad feeling about this one.

    Pure filth!
Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.
