Angels are looking for a veteran SS

I'd try to deal them Hairston or Kepp if the return is proper. Any chance of this happening?

Nope, cuz they'd both get claimed.

Hairston and Kepp is nothing like the veteran SS the Angels are looking for. JHJ's bat (this season) would play nicely, but his defense is sub-par. Kepp is not hitting and he has zero range at SS. I don't think the Angels would want 2 backups (at best) to fill their SS position going into the postseason.

I don't think any other team besides the Reds would see either as a SS.

Erick Aybar is way better than both of those 2. I would be happy if I never had to watch Keppinger play SS again. Any other position, I'll be glad to watch him as a utility player.

And if they are looking for a backup, they will not want a SS who is a slouch defensively, that is not the Angels style of play.
