It might just be for a tune up game or two before he starts playing with the Sara Reds.

You'd think with that kind of signing bonus he'd be overqualified for that league, hitting off the Jerry Gils of the world. How many folks can you stuff on a GCL roster? I see they list 21 pitchers

He'll probbaly get 4-5 games in and move up. Get some timing.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

Grande and Welsh mentioned a few days ago he was probably going to the GCL for a game or two and then will be assigned to High-A Sarasota.

Frazier, Francisco, Alonzo in the middle of the Sarasota order.

Maybe Alonzo, Frazier, Francisco to break up the lefties.

    Not too shabby.

Of course. Every time I look forward to seeing a Reds prospect debut the game always gets rained out. I believe Devin Mesoraco's Dayton debut was pushed back a day for rain, as was Dallas Buck's Reds organizational debut and now Yonder Alonso's pro debut.

Yeah, while he has been practicing and all, he hasn't faced live game pitching in months. Get his rhythm back and then let him rip.

I think you can have 35 players on a GCL roster.

I guess with "Fay" coming it could be awhile before he plays in that league
