I would just keep Cobb at WR. UK doesn't really have anyone else who's a real playmaker on offense. Hartline didn't make any bad mistakes except for the safety. As long he limits his mistakes he will be fine,IMO. Big win today. I certainly can see a 7-5 season. Win the next three and I can them with at least three wins in the SEC,Arkansas,Vandy and Miss State. I'm not ruling out South Carolina. If they can muster up 20 points in that game, they will win. 8-4 is doable for sure.

I hope they can win at least three in the SEC, but I know one thing - a lot of people are marking Mississippi State as a win (not singling you out, cumberlandreds, just a general statement), and they have, I think at least, more players back than anyone in the SEC, and beat UK at Commonwealth last year, so I can see them having a hard time in Starkville. Hopefully UK will have a chip on their shoulders from last year's embarrassing performance (easily their most disappointing game of an otherwise successful season last year) and come in there ready to go. But who knows.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Very enjoyable win today!

But his accuracy isn't outstanding, and it takes him FOREVER to release the ball. I thought Leftwich was bad, but he makes Leftwich look like he gets rid of the ball in a heartbeat.
Cantwell appeared to use the same throwing velocity on a screen pass that he did on a 30 yard out pattern.

If he has any "touch" whatsoever, I did not see it yesterday.

IMO, Myron Pryor was the star of the game.

I like Cobb as well, but not as QB right now. We need his athleticism in the receiving routes. He is too far behind in the QB reps from what I have heard. Right now, they are putting together some goal line packages for him at QB--but that is really all.

I watched Miss State lose to La Tech Saturday night. They did not look good at all,IMO. Very poor offensively and really not that good defensively. It will tough game down in Starkville for sure but it's one the Cats can win.

He has a very funky release, to say the least. Even more awkward to watch than Aaron Rodgers at Cal.

No one on the offensive side of the ball on either team was a "star". That was some heinous offense by both sides, the difference in the game being that Kentucky was far, far superior on the defensive side of the ball (obviously).

The game really turned on Bilal Powell's fumble that was returned for the TD making the game 10-0. That allowed UK to play extremely conservative and protect Hartline from making any mistakes. It also eventually forced Louisville to scramble to catch up in the 4th before Cantwell imploded before an opportunistic UK D.

I think Cantwell's throwing motion lead to the implosion, and what I couldn't understand is why he didn't try to throw to the 6'8" guy more often, if he got the ball to him it was caught, KY couldn't stop him.

I fully expected that game to go UL's way, but I was very happy with the outcome... I was surprised by how good that D was against UofL.
In those things which we commit to practice we can master, and with mastery we have the freedom to use these skills whenever we desire, without this practice we are slaves to our inability.

Keep Cobb at wideout. We are going to have enough problems there as it is.

The real intrigue will be next season seeing how we use Newton and Hartline together, possibly. Could be a Tim Tebow-Chris Leak type of offense.

The defense is going to keep them in a lot of ballgames, that much is for certain.

As far as receivers, Brooks said Aaron Boyd has been cleared to play so they will evaluate him as far as how far along he is and what is best. Redshirt or not.

Also dont forget about the kid from Texas. I posted a video of him in post #8 of this thread. My guess is one of the Newton/Massakowski duo will be redshirted.
I havent seen Newton that much but RM looks like he could be a good one as well.

I haven't forgotten about Mossakowski. However, as you said, one of them will likely be redshirted. My guess is that it will be Mossakowski, since we will already have a similar, more seasoned QB in Hartline.

I won't go far enough to make this comparison, but Newton reminds me a lot of Vince Young with his size and speed. I don't know about arm strength or maturity, but they are in the same mold.

I have only seen Newton the one time on ESPN the other day.
His arm strength is tremendous. In fact...was told the other day...Cobb compares more to Young only with much stronger arm. They said Newton is "not" a Vince Young type but more of a Jamarcus Russell.
So basically I think Newton/Mossakowski are both more of the NFL pro style QB.
