It's probably just to get some work in. Sarasota is where the Reds training facilities are. I'm really excited to see Castillo.

    question to all...

would you release , say Andy Phillips, and add Chris Valaika to the 40 man to be called up soon when Chatt is done. He couldn't do any worse right now than Philips as a PH, and give us a look see if maybe he can hack it up here for next year.

Bako needs to be released. Lets see Castillo/Hannigan for the rest of the year behind the plate.

Sarasota's season ended today, which allows them to bring him back up tomorrow when the rosters expand. It was a pure paper move, Ramirez is still with the club, just not on the active roster for one day.

This allows them to have Castillo on the bench for today's game.

Castillo has been moved from the catchers to the infielders on the Reds 25 man FWIW

Was at the game yesterday and can verify that Ramirez was still in Cincy.....He signed an autograph for me! The send-down to Sarasota was a procedural move in name only due to Sarasota's season ending. Otherwise he'd have to spend 10 days in the minors before being eligible to be recalled.
