So Soto worked with Ramirez too....good to know

I throw whatever money I can to keep him around full-time (but it's not my money)

Top of 5. Ramirez back for another go.

Ramon fights with McLouth for a while, running the count full by alternating fastballs and changeups. Nate fouls off six straight offerings before Ramirez sneaks a change by him for strike three on pitch #11!

Where was that 1-2 pitch to Gomez?

Marty is saying Soto helped Ramirez with his change. The Reds need to back the Brinks truck up to Soto's house and make him an offer he can't refuse to be the pitching coach.

Gomez works the count to 1-1 before Ramirez gets a slider over for a called strike. Chris ends up lining out to right. Two down.

Mientkiewicz watches three changeups, two of which are called strikes. A fourth is fouled away. A fifth is grounded to Votto at first to end the inning.

Either Gameday is screwy or that's way too many of those to be throwing. Might want to mix it up a little more...

Votto with an opposite field homerun to begin the 5th inning! #17 for Votto.

    Bottom of 5.

Votto bounces back from those two strikeouts by slamming the first Davis pitch over the wall in left-center for homer #17! 5-4 Pirates.

Encarnacion gets ahead in the count, eventually working it full. He's then Rudied by a 92-mph fastball (ouch) to bring up Bruce.

Lefties are hitting .345 off Davis this year.

Jay takes a changeup for a strike, then another for a ball. He grounds into a 3-6-3 double play, erasing Edwin and making it two outs, nobody on.

On comes Hanigan, 0-for-2 with a couple of flyouts.

Slider's low and outside, ball one. Fastball's low. Fastball's high and inside. Again inside, and that's a four-pitch walk.

    Inning continues for Castillo.
