Haven't heard about them signing him, but from everything I've gatherned on Shaun, they might as well have kept Rudi around if they made this signing.
As long as it's a one year deal on the cheap, why not? You'd be saving money compared to Rudi for similar production.
I would only want the Bengals to sign him if he's going to run hard.
An article from NFL.com said heīs finally healthy, willing to sign for the veteran minimum, and doesnīt need to be the lead back...Iīd say it beats the heck out of Chris Perry for a couple games until he gets hurt again and then Kenny Watson and DeDe Dorsey the rest of the year...worked so well for us last year...
What is there to lose? Heck, weīve already got Chris Henry back on the team, so itīs not like we donīt have idiots, and Chad Ocho Cinco and his crap during the summer, so itīs not like thereīs not any locker room issues Iīm sure...
after watching the crap that was the running game today alexander couldn't get here fast enough.
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.
Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008
It probably won't matter who they have if the O-Line, TEs and FB can open up some holes for the RB.
Perry had some good runs and then other times he would get stuffed right away. On one play I think it was 3rd and 1 and the FB got pushed back and tripped up Perry for a loss.

I dont think is going to happen.Lewis seemed to puncture the Shaun Alexander stuff, saying he'd be surprised if Alexander would get a call from the Bengals.
The Bengals could have a duo of LT and Adrian Peterson but it wouldn't make that much of a difference with how porous our offensive line is. How about the Bengals go out and sign a vet center instead of a washed up RB they really don't need? Talk about improving your offense.
One of these days, I can only hope that Mike Brown either "gets religion" or hire someone who understands that football teams are built from the lines out. I thought they realized that when they drafted guys like Steinbach and Jones to go with Willie Anderson and Rich Braham, but then they fell back to their old ways of giving big contracts to the glory boys at WR and RB, letting Steinbach go and failing to replace the retiring Braham with a solid replacement. And of course there's the ongoing theme of filling the DL with guys who filled supporting roles on other teams and an assortment of "not ready for prime time" players.
