Ludwick flies out and Glaus grounds out. A 1-2-3 9th inning for Cordero. Make that 12 consecutive shutout innings for Cordero.

I like Hairston too, but keep in mind he's never had a year where he's come close to this much success. His OPS+ of 121 this year is head and shoulders above his second best season of 105 (in 2003 in Baltimore). I'm not so sure we can expect to see the same production he's provided this season again next season - even if he is healthy.
Having said all that, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back. I just hope IF things go sour with him, Dusty doesn't go all Corey Patterson with him as well.
True there too.
They have a tough decision to make.
Corey Patterson seems like a great guy. I'd love to see him put it together offensively. If he could ever get back to his 2003-2004 and 2006 form he would be one of the better center fielders in the game. His defense is that good.
THe Reds have given serious setbacks to the Brewers, Diamondbacks and, now, the Cards chances.
Better than nothing.
And you can bet I'll call this offense pitiful every game until the end of the season if this is the result .
