Why it might have been better to keep losing!

    Stephen Strasburg
    Class:
    Sophomore
    Hometown:
    San Diego, Calif.
    High School:West Hills HS
    Height / Weight:
    6-4 / 220
    Position:
    RHP
    Birthdate:
    07/20/1988
8-3, with a 1.57 earned run average and 133 strikeouts in 97 innings for the Aztecs last season. On April 11, he struck out 23 University of Utah batters.[1]In his first start at the Olympics, Strasburg one-hit Netherlands over seven innings-- striking out five of the first six batters he faced.

Winning all these games in september has been great but would we have been better long term to lose alot of games, get the first round pick for next year and take this guy?

I chose the second option, but disagree about "too expensive anyway".

There are no guarantees that you lose enough to get the first pick.

I'd rather set the tone for next season. Losing can be contagious and so can winning.
    Who's on first?

I agree, i am sick of the too expensive mentality surrounding this ball club, but you have to create an attitude of winning, and that has begun here, i just hope it can carry over.

This team would probably have had to have lost at record-breaking levels to overtake both Seattle and Washington in order to get in that kind of position anyway.

We weren't going to lose enough to catch up to those guys anyways.

Kinda pointless in Baseball... amature draft is no automatic, atleast not compared to the NBA or NFL drafts.
