    Countdown to Opening Day 2009

Well, here we go again. Yet another season has come and gone. While the season was not a success, it was certainly interesting. Mainstays Ken Griffey, Jr. and Adam Dunn were traded. Jay Bruce and Joey Votto provided a ton of hope and promise for the future. Players who were not on the Major League roster radar this time a year ago in Edinson Volquez, Johnny Cueto and Chris Dickerson have forced their ways into the long term plans of this club.

This should prove to be one of the more interesting off seasons in quite some time. The Reds have a ton of money to spend in the free agent market, but there are alot of questions as to the overall talent of this years pool. Will they make a run at CC Sabathia? Will they make a run at that power hitting right handed enforcer they need so badly? The next six months will tell.

Enjoy the playoffs. Enjoy the rest of football season. Enjoy basketball season. Hopefully everyone has a safe and enjoyable offseason and how about we all meet up for a game on Opening Day at Great American Ball Park against the Mets on April 6, 2009 in.....

    187 days.

187 days is a long ways off. I'm looking forward to when this thread is multiple pages long and the days are in single digits.

It's extra long this year because we were done a little earlier than usual in September, and the first game in 2009 isn't until April 6th....ouch!

Long time. I don't start counting myself until after the Series when things can start happening. This year, though, with the CPatt and Bako announcement Walt improved the team already without making a deal yet.
