i know it's early but i still hope the reds get one of the two top shortstops: Ryan Jackson or Grant Green. then pick one or two more shortstops in the first 10 rounds.

This is a nice write up on SS prospect Grant Green I don't know if he will be there at 8 but if he is I would give him a good long look.

I do as well but he should be long gone by the 8th pick.

Is he eligible? I thought he was only a sophomore this year.

apparently some scouts think strasberg reminds them of prior as far as mechanics which isn't good. with the 1st pick i wouldn't want that kind of risk. davis will be eligible in '09.

I remember when the Reds passed on some other kid with mechanic problems a couple years ago.

The Yankees get an extra 1st round pick to use on someone useless

Not since Mark Prior has there been this kind of buzz about an amateur pitcher. Strasburg is a rare triple-digit-reaching starter, though he typically fires it in from 95-97mph. There aren't many men that can legitimately throw 100 mph, but nearly all of them are relievers. Besides the great fastball, Stephen also employs an outstanding slider, good command and poise, clean mechanics, and a knack for pitching big in big games. These attributes have teams at the top of the draft salivating

Love him too, watched him with Team USA, and he is a great player, and seems to be a great guy from the time I saw, his interaction with teammates and fans was wonderful!
