Dunn to the Angels? They're a smart franchise, I could see it.

Kotsay and Dennys Reyes to the Reds?

I don't want any part of Kotsay.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Funny, he says Dunn is much maligned, yet he ranks him lower in value than a 34-year old Orlando Cabrera... weird.

He's not much of a hitter anymore and he was rated as the third worst defensive center fielder in 2008.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

He's been a bit of an out machine since '04.

I see him more as a useful utility player. He also has some postseason experience which the Reds sorely lack. I also would be intrigued by FeLo. If you could get him cheep, move him to second and Phillips to SS I think Lopez could be dangerous back at GABP. I thought he was going to become the next SS in a long line of good SS that the Reds have had. He would bring a great deal of versatility to the Reds. I would much rather have Kotsay and Lopez than Hopper and Freel.

I didn't see Javy Valentin's name on that list. He was probably No. 51.

I didn't realize he'd gotten that bad in CF, but I was just automatically thinking of him as a backup.

Postseason experience might come in handy if the Reds were anywhere near the postseason. Otherwise, I think Kotsay is exactly the type of aging, never-had-it player the Reds should avoid.

No way he's that low. He's top 10 easily. Clearly an oversite on SI's part.

Cabrera and Perez are way to high on the list.

Re: Sports Illustrated Lists the Top 50 Free Agents

Well out of that group I would like to acquire these guys if possible:

1)Juan Cruz-young Rh could be a valuable set-up man and give us a nice 7-9 inning combo of Burton-Cruz-Cordero!!! talk about nasty!!!

2)Dennys Reyes-still young would be a Loogy, and wouldn't break the bank and it would allow us to have a top 5 bullpen! (Cordero-Cruz-Burton-Bray-Reyes-Masset-Ramirez) We could then use Owings as the 5th starter, and there is no need to shop for a starting pitcher.

3)Mark Kotsay-at 33 would serve as our #1 guy off the bench and still get plenty of AB's playing OF/1B, and would come cheap.

4)Raul Ibanez-yes he's 36, but he could be a nice stop-gap in LF till Alonzo is ready in 2010, although he hits LH he would still be a nice middle of the order bat if the lineup is used correctly.

    1)Dickerson-CF(LH)
    2)Phillips-2b (RH)
    3)Votto-1b(LH)
    4)EE-3b(RH)
    5)Ibanez-LF(LH)
    6)Bruce-RF(LH)
    7)Gonzo-ss(RH)
    8)Hanigan-c(RH)

that offense to me is pretty balenced I think it would work!
