What's the status with him? Are the Rockies looking to unload on him? I would absolutely love to have him on the Reds, he's an absolute speedster. The only negative I could see is we would definitely have a very low power team, but with Bruce, Dickerson and Tavares in the outfield at once...that's a hell of a lot of speed.
Also, how is Tavares defensively?
We have enough in house Willy Tavaras options.
We won't go for Tavares. I would love the speed however, our need is power right now. Defensively he is decent b/c he is so fast.
He's actually a very poor defensive outfielder, with no arm whatsoever. The only thing he does have going for him is speed.
We'll win it all next year...
He also gets on base about as much as Patterson did.
Taveras's career high OPS is .748 and that appeared to be a one year anomaly where his BABIP was .80 points above what it should have been, so Taveras got extremely lucky in '07. Just say no to Willy he isn't worth it.Originally Posted by ED44
