thanks to Bob Borkowski for inviting me to update -
It is difficult to discuss, even on a typewriter/computer... My wife is still in the hospital and she has the clearly one of the top leukemic doctors (Dr. Gail Roboz), but her leukemia has rejected every treatment so far - and we are in the tenth month of this. We are wondering when they will come in and say "there is nothing more we can do". On one hand, the Roboz team is amazed at my wife's toughness and our determination, but leukemia apparently can be like cockroaches... you just can't get rid of them all.
I now know the true meaning of one day at a time - and have to say, this has brought us even closer than we were before. So I feel mostly gratitude, with a touch of fear thrown in.
