    2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones

I'm thinking about going to some games this year. I haven't seen them since they moved to the Arena, but I always loved watching them at the Gardens. Anyone have any parking tips? Players we should keep an eye on? Reasons for optimism/pessimism? Have you recently gone to a game? etc.

There is a parking garage right next to the arena if you don't mind paying a little more. I prefer to park at Newport on the Levee, have dinner and walk across the bridge that dumps you right next to the arena. If cold weather and a ten minute walk doesn't bother you that is a fine option.

As far as players go, don't get too attached. The better they are the more likely they are to leave. The ECHL is a level down from what you were used to at the Gardens and as such the players are more transient. ECHL hockey is a true example of "cherring for the name on the front, not the back."

I go to a handful of games per year and really enjoy it. Friday night is 90s night and all concessions prices will be reduced accordingly. The Clones are also wearing throwback 90s jerseys and IIRC all tickets are $7.

Yeah, I saw an ad for this on a billboard off of 275. It's actually what made me think to start this thread. The throwback night seems like a great night to go. Not only are tickets only $7, there are lots of $1 concessions, including beer. I'm pretty sure they serve PBR, too, so I'll be in heaven.

    .
In other Cyclones news, second-year forward Chris Mueller has been recalled by the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL). He becomes the fourth Cincinnati player to earn an AHL promotion this season and is the third player from the opening night roster to currently be playing at hockey’s AAA level (Hans Benson and Jason Jozsa are the others currently there—Kevin Roeder was elevated earlier in the year and has since been returned).

I'd say it's Throwback beyond the 90s. They're advertising $1 pizza slices, beer and hot dogs along with $0.50 popcorn. Were concessions that cheap just ten years ago?

Yep.. They are wearing 1990 jerseys and using concession prices from that year. So it is more like 20 years ago.

I really hope this means we can get 1990 prices on gasoline for the trip there and back.

You gonna burn a lot of gas between Northside and downtown?

I'll take the $1 beer and dogs

Cool. However if that's the case 1990s gas price night wouldn't effect you anyway.
