Next Reds manager, second shooter. --Confirmed on Redszone.
I was never a Boy Scout but got involved in the Explorers in high school. We did a whole lot of backpacking and spelunking.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
I made it as far as "Life Scout", and chose to play baseball instead of pressing ahead and getting my Eagle. That's one of my biggest regrets. I loved Scouting, and if I had a son, I would have them right there in BSA (if that's what they wanted to do). Scouting, along with excellent parents, provided a solid foundation for making me who I am as a person today.
Not to sound rude here, but I still keep my Boy Scout Handbook in my bookrack beside my toilet for the extended visits, when I can use some good reading material.
Every time I think of my time in the Scouts, I think of a camping trip to WPAFB. A couple of our older members got themselves into, what seemed like big trouble at the time, by sneaking out, and going across State Route 235 to the Sky Borne Drive-In movie.
At that time, it was affectionately called the Sky Porn Drive-In
