BRAVES: Atlanta signed catcher David Ross to a two-year deal.
Ross, a free agent and career .222 hitter, batted .231 in 52 games with the Reds last season before he was released Aug. 18. He signed with the Red Sox and appeared in eight games late in the season. The 31-year-old Georgia native is likely to replace Corky Miller as the primary backup to Braves starting catcher Brian McCann.
Braves general manager Frank Wren also confirmed he has made an offer for free-agent pitcher A.J. Burnett.
