    Braves DFA Juan Francisco

    This is rather surprising, IMO.

    Re: Braves DFA Juan Francisco

When you strikeout more the 1/3 of the time walk less than 1/15th of the time, it's hard to be a productive hitter, regardless of how much power you have.

    But surprising nonetheless.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I wonder if they already have something in the works to move him with this allowing them to work out the details while bringing up the other guy now. Then again, if details need to be worked out, why not just make it for a PTBNL.

I've noticed JF wasn't playing much lately, and the righty alternative was getting most of the PT.

The Braves play 25 games over the next 25 days with only 1 day of rest in there. Probably pretty smart on their part to bring up another pitcher for the long part of their schedule.

Why do just keep cherry picking every time a former Red gets DFA'd. You've got to discuss the whole picture, man!

Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

    What's the whole picture?

That Hoover for Francisco looks even better now then yesterday?

Not sure I follow your complaint here? I'm not sure there's a whole picture to be seen at this moment. In my comment, I certainly am not advocating the Reds reacquire Francisco. We don't really have room for him. Then again, maybe your comment isn't directed at mine (not that I'm concerned about it).

Dude needs to be picked up by Toronto but I detect sushi in his future.

Where's that thread about the Reds being in the 'loser' in that trade again.

I was told Juan Francisco is a legit power hitter because he hit 3 home runs in April.

Would he make sense for either the Astros or Marlins? Gotta be a shot for him on one of those teams.

That makes a ton of sense.

    Francisco just hasn't exploded yet.
