What would we have to give Boston for Kevin Youkilis

He seems to be the answer to a bunch of our problems.

    EE to left field.

Are we talking about Harang and Bailey?

    Come home Kevin.

Sorry, but I just don't see Boston letting Youkilis go anytime soon.

If Boston wasn't out of the running for Teixeira, (which their not) they will most likely make Lowell expendable, not Youkilis. Like Pedroia, expect Boston to lock up the rest of their home grown talent, Lester will be next, then Youkilis. Not sure about Papelbon though.

I don't think Jay Bruce would get it done. I think Youkilis is 99.999% untouchable.

Too much. What happened the last time we got some certain player come home?

I wouldn't trade Bruce for anyone. The thought of it reminds me of when we traded Hamilton last year.I was convinced that was a horrible trade even though it worked out ok,although it still could prove to be a bad trade(I hope not).Bruce will be with us for the next 5 years no matter how good he does and I would bet he'll be fantastic. No need to chase with trades for our youth when our youth is the about the best.Lets build around it!!!

Trading Jay Bruce for anyone would guarantee mediocrity for the Reds for years to come. We are not the Yankees. We must develop our stars from within. Bruce, Votto, Volquez, Cueto, and Burton need to stay here. If they develop into great players then we will be great if they don't then more of the same. If we trade them for established stars then the salary we'll have to pay pretty much guarantees mediocrity (no room to move.)

    I agree...

An Outfield of Hamilton and Bruce would have been a good one... Especially if Edinson goes 10-15 in 2009... Which is probably.

When the Hamilton/Volquez deal was made I wondered if we could've dealt Dunn instead. But what's done is done. Both players have delivered so far and there's no reason to think that won't continue. Volquez could do worse but so could Hamilton.

He is not on the market so it does not really matter.

Just curious, why do you think Edinson will go 10-15?

Boston will not be trading Youkilis.

It's a nice thought but it's not happening.
