    Wang and Yanks agree to $5 million, 1-year deal

    NEW YORK (AP)—Pitcher Chien-Ming Wang and the New York Yankees avoided salary arbitration when they agreed Monday to a $5 million, one-year contract.

    The 28-year-old right-hander was 8-2 with a 4.07 ERA in 15 starts last season before injuring a foot while running the bases at Houston in mid-June. He did not return.

    Wang made $4 million last season after losing in salary arbitration. He had asked for $4.6 million.

    I'm still amused that the guy got injured while running the bases (and he wasn't even running very fast at the time), LOL
