    Classic Cars

Anyone into cars at all? Me and the old man are pretty big into them, particularly the vettes and T/As.

My first car was a 69 camaro convertible 327

I loved that car... I also had a 73 cougar convertible with a 351... that thing flew.

My favorite car growing up was a '68 Camaro never owned one, but just like a woman those curves stole my heart. A Cougar, ya never hear of those anymore but another sweet ride.

I am now partial too the cars like my 1st one a '76 Caprice Classic. A big 'ole boat jacked up in the back, w/ fender skirts and a mean grill. Ah, the memories I have of those days!

Except for the rims it looked a lot like this (except lower in the front end).

    A sweet ride indeed.

If I'm not mistaken, our own Roy Tucker used to have one of these in his wilder days of cross country beer runs.

Ayup. However, mine was a '76 and the picture is a '77.

455 CI and I forget the HP. I got all the emission controls stuff taken off (major illegal but WT*) and redid the exhaust to make it true dual exhaust. Did a lot of auto-crossing in it. Got some pretty major speeding tickets too. It hacked me off because I got it before all the Smokey and the Bandit stuff but it didn't matter, I got accused of Burt Reynolds wannabe. Bah.

1964 Corvette is still my dream car. That and a '63 Studebaker Avanti.

And some day before I die, I'm going to have a car with flames on the side.

    It's about
    the ball,
    the bat,
    the mitt,
    the bases,
    and the fans

In those things which we commit to practice we can master, and with mastery we have the freedom to use these skills whenever we desire, without this practice we are slaves to our inability.

I had a black '79 Trans Am that looked similar to that.
Over the years I've had a '68 Mustang, '76, '79, '83 and '85 Firebirds (the '79 and "85 were T/As), and '77 and '92 Corvettes. My current midlife crisis isn't a classic yet, but it is easily my favorite car: an '08 Corvette.
