    Your Reds Christmas

So I wanted to share with everyone probably my favorite Christmas present. My wife gave me a commemorative puzzle celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Reds Hall of Fame. It's a puzzle of a lithograph Bill Purdom did of everyone (up to that time) who has been selected for the Reds Hall of Fame.

I wanted to find an image of it, but couldn't find a link, but it's going to be fun putting together.

So share what Reds items you received from the man in Red.

This year I got nothing Reds related (sometimes I wonder if anyone really knows me at all). Can I talk about stuff I got in the past?

Some people don't want to talk about the past.

    Re: Your Reds Christmas

For the first time in my life, I received absolutely nothing for Christmas. I wasn't even particularly bad this year either. Someone gave me a Sudoku book this year, but after I opened it, I realized it was addressed to 'Steffen' instead of 'Steven', so I had to give it to some guy named 'Steffen' and tell him it was from some little girl I didn't know.

I didn't receive any Reds stuff for Christmas, but my daughter gave me a Dustin Pedrioa jersey and a Red Sox license plate for the front of my pickup truck. We are transplanted New Englanders.

Nice jersey for the price...felt-like material for the numbers and letters...don't know if that is right.

    Re: Your Reds Christmas

No Reds related presents (but that's pretty much every year) namely because I usually go out and get the stuff I want. We (as a family) didn't draw names this year, it was just buying for the kids and I got presents for my parents. My parents gave out money to all of us - with me and my sisters getting $1,500 a piece.

Hey Metz, I did that puzzle once I got it at the HOF induction thing. The puzzle is great. I was thinking of gluing it together and framing it, but ended up wrecking it. Maybe another day. Have fun!

I got the Joe Nuxhall book. Great pics in there! Got a gift card for Barnes and Noble to be used towards Bill James Gold Mine 09, which is a new great series.

    Re: Your Reds Christmas

I got one thing myself and actually gave one thing too. I bought my mom a picture of the Big Red Machine at Redfest and framed it for her to put in the family room. She's redecorating it with all sorts of sports stuff after the holidays and I got that to help her out. She's also a big baseball fan so she loved it. I wish I was rich so I could have bought an autographed one for her!

I was very happy to get a 2009 Reds calendar and due to the fact that it actually has Adam Dunn and Griffey Jr. in it (who are obviously no longer with the Reds), Joey Votto will have more than one month in my version, LOL

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
