No surprise there. I can't imagine they'll be keeping Jimbo, but stranger things have happened...like him being a GM in the first place.

Certainly not until the true story comes out regarding the skimming situation -- and only if Rijo is innocent.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

No way, I find it hard to believe Rijo and Bowden weren't up to the same tricks when they were here, no need to bring that trouble back to town.

The Reds don't need Jose. They have moved on and it sounds like they didn't like the working relationship with his camp in the first place. Unless he wants to be a roving instructor, I don't see how he fits in.

Too bad if true. He was one of my all time favorite Reds. But no way you bring him back now, even if the story's not true.

As a pitching coach/helper yes. As someone to run a Latin American baseball school nope!

Not currently, this franchise is covered with bruises and has the tendency to look back as distraction from what color green/blue those bruises are.

    That approach has to end.

Only if he calls in to the Banana Phone and bashes Marty and Joe Potato Chips. Him getting Joe fired up about that was still one of the funniest Banana Phone calls I've ever heard.

Let me quantify my question somewhat. I'm not talking about hiring him in an official capacity or using his DR facility. What I'm talking about is sort of a goodwill ambassador for the Reds. He comes to ST and gladhands with the fans and helps out with some of the pitchers - especially Dominican pitchers. He comes up to Cincinnati on special occassions but has no official title.

Goodwill usually comes wrapped in honesty and trust, I don't see Jose draggin that wagon currently.

    Pass.

He has quite a cloud hovering over him these days. I say it's an easy no.
How do we know he's not Mel Torme?
