My wife's cousin signed with Ohio State, Sam Longo. Pretty cool as the entire family has always been big Ohio State fans.
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
What's Kentucky going to do with all these quarterbacks? Hartline will only be a junior, Cobb a sophomore, and then the two freshmen? Will one of the freshmen end up being moved to another position? and how did they convince both of them to come, given that the other would potentially provide competition all four years?
Also, I think I heard today that the SEC placed ten in the top 25 draft classes, so even with UK's great (for them) class, they're still next-to-last in the SEC.
The Sox traded Bullfrog the only player they've got for Shottenhoffen. Four-eyes Shottenhoffen a utility infielder. They've got a whole team of utility infielders.
One of the freshmen will almost definitely redshirt.
When you put kids into the NFL, other prospects take notice. They'll both likely get plenty of PT during their stay at UK.
Coach Brooks had an awesome quote about those rankings talking about how many of our guys who were "only" 3 star recruits are now in the NFL or are going to be there shortly as well as now being All-SEC ranked players.
My guess is Hartline will open the season as the starter.
As WMR said, Cobb is going to likely be a wideout and kick returns. That is where most of his talent lies anyways.
If I were Brooks, Mossakowski would redshirt. We already have a similar QB in Hartline, so holding a clipboard might be for the best.
Newton could give a spark similar to Cobb last season, and IMO is a lot better groomed for the QB position. I'd like to see a Hartline/Newton platoon similar to Tebow/Leak.
Heres a question, who do you think will ultimately have a better career? LSU's Russell Shepherd or Kentucky's Morgan Newton. Both are eerily similar in terms of the style they play. I think Newton will have a harder time reaching the field because Kentucky is extremely deep at QB.
Agreed, WV, I don't think there's ANY question that Hartline opens up camp as the starter... if he struggles though, it will get ugly fast and he'll get yanked even quicker.

I don't follow UK football so excuse my ignorance but does this Hartline have any relation to Buckeye great (he's leaving early he must be good) Brian Hartline?
