    Greatest infomercial ever revisited

I think the Slap Chop thread got lost in the tragic Board Crash of 2009. I have been quoting this for the past month or so, I am ashamed to admit it but it is true. It is not as bad, yet, as that bizarre 6 month stretch in 1993-4 when Copacabana was stuck in my head but it could be lose. There are so many highlights I had to restart this to thank whoever it was that brought this into my life.

I still love the line "You're going to love my nuts." I RoFL every time.

I have never seen that before.

I'd probably laugh at it, but we have something very similiar from Pampered Chef and we use the holy hell out of it. Pizza toppings, salad toppings, omlet fillers, ...

While the commercial is amusing, the concept behind the product is useful.

    Vince > Billy

    Ya following me Redszone readah?

I think Vince won the people over when he said "Ya gonna love my nuts". That's the end-all-be-all. If Billy Mays says something as catchy as this then he could compete with Vince.

He's a ripoff schmuck. I can see why Billy Mays is pissed. Mays pioneered this business and now the Shamwow guy is blatantly copying his products. A lawsuit has to be eminent...

Both of these guys are amatuers compared to the pros that move this stuff on the Home Show Circuit.

It's easy to do this in front of a camera and, if ya' screw it up, you do a retake. There are people out there that do this stuff at a home show 40 weeks of the year, three days a week, and about four times an hour in front of live audiance that votes with their dollars or their jeers.

Those are the 'pros' and some of them make a 6 figure income at it.

Vince actually did work that circuit for a while from the looks of his Wiki bio.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sham_wow

The success of the Underground Comedy Movie infomercial suggested to Offer that he should sell something more "mainstream." Drawing upon his experience working in flea markets, he decided in 2006 to market a cleaning product that he saw there, an absorbent towel that he called the "ShamWow."[1

Nah, for the real pros you have to see them work the Center of Progress building at the New York State Fair. Those guys really work it.

These guys wouldn't last five seconds on the "Knife Show".

"These knives are full tang, with carbon hardened blades. As a bonus we are throwing in Excalibur, tell me, who doesn't need a broadsword?"
Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.
