Totally agree, although I will say meh has an advantage in that I don't ever actually hear it in real life, for me at least it seems to just be an internet thing. Thankfully.

    My children say it.

Or more specifically, said it. When they did, my head split open and this red-eyed beast emerged that very pointedly let them know it was not to be used in the future.

I have used "feh" in conversation.

I usually just furrow my brow at the person as to say "You sir, are an idiot."

It's kind of hard to carry that out in the typed word medium

Whatever happened to good, old-fashioned "Bah"?

"Bah" is more like an old person shutting the door on a solicitor...

"Meh" is like a sleepy, uncaring attitude meant to disarm the subject. I have actually said it. It doesnt sound as good as it's types though.

It kind of sounds like a livestock at the end of its usefulness.

    Re: On the word "meh"

I've used and seen a few other people use "..." (an ellipsis) to respond to something someone has just typed. Usually it is call out some, potentially unintended, innuendo. It can also be a "whatever dude" type response. Doesn't quite capture the wholehearted indifference of a good solid meh, though.

The Simpson's started the whole "meh" thing.

Me and my old roomie heard Lisa do it in 1996 or something and it was used in our household constantly after that.

It was more of a Simpson's tribute than anything else, really.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Fox says it's renewing "The Simpsons" for another two seasons, which will secure its place as TV's longest-running prime-time series. Now in its 20th season, "The Simpsons" already had tied record-holder "Gunsmoke." The Western drama series aired for two decades on CBS before it ended in 1975.

"The Simpsons" will pass that mark next season. The two-year, 44-episode pickup announced Thursday by Fox will bring the total number of "Simpsons" episodes to 493.

The animated comedy about Homer and Marge Simpson, their children and the town of Springfield is not only enduring but much-honored: It's received a Peabody and 24 Emmys among other awards.

First time I've ever (officially) said it.
